Jeffrey Remembered...

Dave, one of Jeffrey's first cousins, was nice enough to contact his siblings for me. I seriously cannot thank him enough for constantly helping me out with this site. Just a day after receiving his email, I received yet another email, containing a cherished memory from Barb, another of Jeffrey's first cousins. I loved reading this message so much, that I'm sharing it with you. It just goes to show you how amazing and fun Jeffrey really was.

Annette,

You bring back many fond memories of my (our) cousin Jeff.  I did have the privilege seeing Jeff in Godspell in New York "off-Broadway" in 1971.  He took me, my college roommate and my parents backstage and introduced us to all of the cast members.  There was a buffet of food and lots of music and laughter.  I felt very important at 19 years old.

Jeff was 3 years older than me.  I remember he and Jenn (his twin) as the first people I knew to play the guitar and sing.  They had very good voices and sounded so wonderful in the days of folk songs and ballads.

Another time I remember is going to the drive-in movies with him, Jenn, my brother Dave and sister Kathy.  I don't recall this as a tactic to get rid of us this time.  Anyway, there were some beggars going around to all of the cars, begging for money.  When one came to our window, Jeff started talking in Russian.  To say the least the beggar left in a hurry.  It was a hoot.  You see, the Russian scare was still ever present in our society back then.  At the time Jenn and Jeff were studying Russian in college. They were very smart and talented, as Dave already pointed out.

The personality that I remember was lighthearted, ornery and fun loving.  I too think about Jeff and Jenn often and especially around the holidays.   I'll never forget all of us eating noodles and drinking milk at the round table at Grandma's, suddenly laughing and milk coming out of Jeff's nose.  Ok so maybe that's not so romantic, but we had some really fun times.

Thanks for the memories,

Barb

Thanks, Barb!!
